The Clinical Microbiology Division, Department of Medical Technology, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University, in collaboration with the International Joint Laboratory–PRESTO project, organized a workshop titled “Pathogen Detection and Diversity Analysis – Introduction to Bioinformatics.” The workshop was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Kanya Preechasuth, Head of the Clinical Microbiology Division.
The event featured expert speakers Dr. Vanina Guernier (IEES, IRD) and Mr. Mathis Arnal (PRESTO – MIVEGEC, IRD), who delivered specialized lectures and hands-on training. The workshop focused on strengthening participants' skills in molecular diagnostics and basic bioinformatics, benefiting researchers and participants from Thailand, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, and the United States.
The Faculty extends its sincere appreciation to the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD) for their support. The workshop was held on the 6th floor of Building 3, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University, from 24–28 November 2025.
