The Institutional Biosafety Committee for Education and Research of the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences (AMS IBC), Chiang Mai University, conducted an inspection of the faculty's laboratories. The inspection team was led by Associate Professor Dr. Ratchada Cressy, Committee Chair, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ponrut Phunpae, Vice Chair, alongside committee members and staff. The site visits targeted laboratories operating with microorganisms, patient specimens, and potentially hazardous biological agents located at the AMS Integrated Academic Excellence Center (AMS-IAEC) and the AMS main academic buildings.
This inspection served as an internal audit to review laboratory readiness regarding facilities, equipment, safety management systems, biological waste handling, and staff protocols. The primary goal is to provide tailored recommendations for each laboratory to improve and align their operations with biosafety regulations. Additionally, this initiative ensures full preparation ahead of the upcoming semester, allowing faculty staff and students to utilize the laboratories safely and confidently.
