The Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University, organized the AMS Research Symposium for Graduate Students 2025 to provide Master's and Ph.D. students with an opportunity to present their research, broaden their academic perspectives, and engage in academic exchange. The symposium was held under the theme "Harness AI Technology in Biomedical Sciences: Advancing Research and Enhancing Postgraduate Education" on May 21–22, 2024, at the Prof. Emeritus Dr. Chairoj Sang-Udom Conference Room, 12th Floor, Building 2, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University.

The event featured special lectures, including:

  • "Generative AI in Research and Academic Writing: Technical and Ethical Considerations" by Dr. Prachya Boonkwan, a researcher from the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), and

  • "Advancements in Biomedical Research Through Generative AI: Current Experiences and Future Trends" by Assistant Professor Dr. Thanapong Intharah, a faculty member of the Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University.


Master's Degree Students

  • Mr. Natdanai Hirata, a Master’s student in the Medical Radiological Sciences program, presented his research titled “Development of an Automatic Periapical Pathologies Detection and Classification System in Periapical Radiographs Using Deep Learning,” under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Kittichai Wantanajittikul, Department of Radiologic Technology, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University.

  • Ms. Kanyarat Thongheang, a Master’s student in the International Medical Technology Program, presented her research titled “Enhancing Antibody-Dependent Cellular Cytotoxicity in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer with Humanized Anti-CD147 Antibody,” under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Umpa Yasamut, Department of Medical Technology, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University.

  • Ms. Manatchanok Chinakarapong, a Master’s student in the International Medical Technology Program, presented her research titled “Synergistic Effect of Doxorubicin and Anti-CD99 Monoclonal Antibody on Apoptosis Induction and Cell Cycle Arrest in Jurkat E6.1 T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Cells,” under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuchjira Takheaw, Department of Medical Technology, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University.

  • Mr. Sorasak Suwan, a Master’s student in the Occupational Therapy program, presented his research titled “The Development of Occupation-Based Practice Service Delivery at the Long-Term Care Community Rehabilitation Center for Stroke Clients: A Preliminary Study,” under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Anuchart Kaunnil, Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University.

  • Ms. Bhiromlak Charoenrat, a Master’s student in the Physical Therapy program, presented her research titled “The Effects of Smartphone Use on Standing Balance in Older Adults with Chronic Non-Specific Neck Pain: A Preliminary Analysis,” under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sureeporn Uthaikhup, Department of Occupational Therapy, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University.

  • Mr. Thanawat Yodthee, a Master’s student in the Physical Therapy program, presented his research titled “Intra-rater Reliability of Transversus Abdominis and Gluteus Medius Muscles Thickness Measurements using Rehabilitation Ultrasound Imaging in Chronic Non-Specific Low Back Pain Individuals,” under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Patraporn Sitilertpisan, Department of Occupational Therapy, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University.

  • Ms. Nichakorn Satitpornbunpot, a Ph.D. student in the Biomedical Science program, presented her research titled “Standard Urban Particulate Matter Exposure Diminishes Human Neutrophil Efficacy in Combating Escherichia coli Infection,” under the supervision of Dr. Chidchamai Kewcharoenwong, Department of Medical Technology, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University.

  • Ms. Rungtawan Chaikla, a Ph.D. student in the Biomedical Science program, presented her research titled “Effects of Manual Therapy Combined with Therapeutic Exercise on Brain Structure and Clinical Outcomes in Chronic Nonspecific Neck Pain: A Randomized Controlled Trial,” under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sureeporn Uthaikhup, Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University.

  • Ms. Chanakarn Kumkun, a Ph.D. student in the Biomedical Science program, presented her research titled “Examining Reliability and Validity of the Thai Assessment of Communication and Interaction Skills and the Qualitative Usability in Thai Contexts,” under the supervision of Dr. Supaluck Phadsri, Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University.
