The Infectious Diseases and Immunology Research Group (IDI), Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Chiang Mai University, led by Dr. Ganjana Lertmemongkolchai, recently conducted a high-level academic visit to three leading research institutions in the People's Republic of China from March 22–28, 2026. The delegation visited Chongqing Three Gorges University, the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center, and the Institute of Veterinary Medicine at the Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences. During these visits, the IDI group presented its comprehensive research portfolio under the "One Health" concept, discussed the progress of student and researcher exchange programs, and explored strategic opportunities for joint funding applications to support future collaborative activities.

A key outcome of this mission was the successful coordination of pilot research projects and the commitment to co-host a "Joint Lab Meeting" in Shanghai. This collaborative meeting, scheduled for the upcoming autumn (September–December), will serve as a platform for researchers and students from both nations to share expertise and strengthen academic ties. By fostering these partnerships with top-tier Chinese institutions, the faculty continues to expand its international footprint in medical science and public health, particularly in the fields of infectious diseases and integrated health solutions.
